In order to avoid the failure of roll self-adhesive label printing caused by self-adhesive material quality problems as much as possible, the appearance quality of the self-adhesive material must be carefully checked before printing, so as to find defects that may cause printing quality problems in time before printing.
- Check whether the adhesive material has burrs.
The smooth and intact edge of the self-adhesive roll material is the basis for ensuring the printing quality of self-adhesive labels. Therefore, before printing, be sure to carefully check whether the cutting edge of the roll self-adhesive material has burrs, whether it is damaged due to improper storage and transportation, and roll the roll self-adhesive material 4~5 times and carefully check the cutting edge.
- Check whether there are cracks on the adhesive material.
When cutting self-adhesive materials, if the cutting knife is not adjusted properly or the blade is not sharp enough, cracks will appear on the top or bottom paper of the self-adhesive material, and the fibers pulled out at the cracks will be stuck to the adhesive. Cracks can appear continuously or randomly, and can appear on one or both sides of the roll adhesive material. So before printing the adhesive material, be sure to carefully check whether there are small cracks on the bottom paper and the face paper. Then, take a section of sample paper that has been inspected as above, peel it off on the base paper, and check again whether there are cracks on the base paper and backing paper, because the cracks are sometimes very small and can only be found after separating the base paper and backing paper.
- Check whether the edges of the self-adhesive material are sticky and whether the base paper is coated with silicone.
Adhesion of the edges or leakage of silicone oil in some areas of the base paper will cause the base paper to be damaged during the waste treatment during the printing process, resulting in the inability to carry out normal production. Therefore, before printing, take a section of self-adhesive material about 1m long and peel it off by hand to see if there are parts of the edge or other parts that cannot be peeled off smoothly and evenly.
- Check whether the cut end surface of the roll adhesive material is straight and whether the rewinding is consistent.
If the cut end surface of the roll self-adhesive material is not flat, it will not only affect the registration during printing, but also cause difficulties in the discharge of waste due to changes in the die-cutting position. Inconsistent tension during rewinding will cause changes in the force on the paper during printing, and uneven tension will also cause printing quality problems.
